Summary: Sweet for Cheap
Comment: I had some experience with a friend's GPS (also a TomTom), so was inclined to buy this brand. Never having bought a refurbished item before, I wasn't sure what to expect, but at the price, there wasn't much to lose.
I was concerned about the quality of the product before I even got it, but when it came, it was beautiful- just like brand new. There were no scratches or nicks; it looked relly good. But did it work? I plugged it in for a while before playing with it just to make sure the battery was charged up. When I turned it on, everything appeared like it was supposed to, the pages came up like you'd expect. It acquired satellites like it was designed to- very quickly. I tapped in my home and selected a destination and it immediately calculated a route. Nice! The menus are very easy to navigate and use.
I have used it several times and am very pleased with its performance. It's simple to select a destination and go. If I get off-route to see something or go to the bathroom or whatever, it recalculates the route in maybe two seconds. I have only used a fraction of the features; the rest I wouldn't call unnecessry, I just haven't had occasion to use them.
A few things about this unit cause me a little bother. In unfamiliar, densely roaded places I have almost taken a wrong exit because of the format of what it says. It says "Take exit (pause) in 200 yards." I don't know if there is a setting for changing the order of the verbiage, but I am aware of this now and know to anticipate. Another thing is the display of my position as it travels along the road. It doesn't always seem to be exactly whrere I am, i.e., the beginning of a highway exit, going under an overpass, crossing roads. This is also a minor issue; I'm not driving on instruments. I don't remember my friend's GPS being like that, though. I have had two instances of the GPS calculating a route from my home that was obviously not the shortest distance nor the quickest. This happened very near my house so I knew to disregard it. I have no doubt about it being able to efficiently direct me from one place to another; in a strange place I might lose a minute or a mile, but not much. Again, when I did go a different way, it was very fast in recalculating. Oh, one more thing- I wish manufacturers or refurbishers wouldn't pack the power cord folded over and tightly bound. It makes it difficult to run the cord nicely in the car, especially in the cold. A better way might be to coil it in the box- there's enough rooom in there, and it would be less likely to snag on everything in the car.
All up, this was a very good value. I wouldn't know it was refurbished except it was advertised that way. It does come with a warranty, too. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Summary: User-friendly GPS
Comment: This was my first GPS purchase, and I am quite pleased with the user-friendliness and the low cost of this model. The unit is sleek looking, straight-forward to use, and easy to understand. I had no trouble finding my way to several destinations in a large, unfamiliar city. I have yet to update the maps or use the included software. I am sure they will also meet my expectations. You will have a very difficult time trying to find a better deal for a car GPS (purchased for $90).
Bottom line: if user-friendly navigation is what you are looking for in a GPS, consider your search complete.

Summary: Refurbished, Its GOOD!
Comment: An excellent choice. Though bought refurbished, this product came as it was new. All items that were supposed to be there were. It worked right out of the box as advertised. Connecting to a PC was also easy. Fairly easy to use, some navigating through the device itself takes getting used to. There may be better GPS devices out there, at a much higher price I may add, but for an amateur like myself, this product is outstanding.
